The Foundation Course offers an opportunity to begin a journey of discovery, connection and personal transformation through the ancient wisdom of shamanic practice.
Over the course of a year, you will explore the foundations of shamanic practice, developing your relationship with the natural world, your helping spirits and your own inner wisdom.
Whether you are drawn to shamanic practice for personal spiritual development or wish to progress towards becoming a qualified shamanic practitioner, this course provides the essential foundations for your journey.
Learning takes place within a supportive group environment, combining practical experience, spiritual exploration, reflection and shared understanding.
What You Will Learn
Throughout the Foundation Course, you will be introduced to the essential principles and techniques of shamanic practice.
These include:
• Understanding the foundations and traditions of shamanic practice.
• Developing relationships with helping spirits and spiritual allies.
• Learning the practice of shamanic journeying.
• Exploring the spiritual dimensions of nature and the natural world.
• Working with the drum as a tool for spiritual connection.
• Understanding the importance of ceremony and sacred space.
• Exploring introductory techniques associated with soul retrieval and extraction.
• Developing spiritual awareness, intuition and personal responsibility.
• Understanding the importance of grounding, boundaries and ethical practice.
• Integrating shamanic experiences into everyday life.
The emphasis throughout is on direct personal experience, allowing you to develop your own understanding and relationship with the practices being taught.

Who is the Foundation Course For
The Foundation Course welcomes people who feel drawn to explore shamanic practice, whether for personal development or as the beginning of a professional training pathway.
You may be seeking a deeper connection with nature, wishing to explore your spirituality, or interested in developing skills that could eventually support your work with others.
No previous experience of shamanic practice is required.
The course also provides the essential preparation and initiation for students wishing to progress into Year Two – Runic Shamanism and the subsequent years of practitioner training.
Course Information
Duration: 14 full training days over approximately one year.
Location: Clophill Centre, Bedfordshire, MK45 4BT.
Group size: Maximum of 12 students.
Course exchange: £1,330.

Continuing Your Shamanic Journey
The Foundation Course is the first year of the Shamanic Quest four-year training programme.
Students who wish to continue their development can progress into Year Two – Runic Shamanism, followed by further training in the integration of shamanic practice, practitioner development and advanced spiritual exploration.
Each year builds upon the foundations established previously, allowing students to deepen their knowledge, experience and spiritual relationships.
You are equally welcome to undertake the Foundation Course solely for your own personal and spiritual development, without any obligation to continue into subsequent years.
