The Living Wisdom of the Runes

 

Discover the ancient mysteries of the runes and their relationship with the creative forces of life.

Runic Shamanism offers a profound journey into the spiritual wisdom of the Northern European traditions, exploring the 24 runes through the Uthark order.

The runes are far more than an ancient writing system or a means of divination. Within this spiritual tradition, they are understood as living energies, messengers and expressions of the creative forces that shape existence.

Through direct experience, spiritual connection and personal exploration, students are invited to discover the runes not simply as symbols to be interpreted, but as powerful spiritual allies with whom they can develop meaningful relationship.

What You Will Learn

Throughout this immersive programme, students will explore:

• The origins and history of the runes, their cultural background and their place within Northern European spiritual traditions.

• The 24 runes of the Uthark order, exploring their individual qualities, meanings and spiritual significance.

• Reading and writing the runes, learning their symbols, names and traditional associations.

• Intuitive connection, developing the ability to sense, recognise and interpret the energies of individual runes.

• Runic divination, learning techniques for seeking insight, guidance and understanding.

• The runes and creation, exploring the spiritual understanding of the runes as expressions of the fundamental creative energies of existence.

• Conscious co-creation, discovering how working in relationship with the runes can support personal transformation, intention and meaningful change.

• Deepening spiritual relationships, moving beyond intellectual understanding towards a personal, experiential connection with the runes.

The Runes as Living Energies

Central to this training is the understanding that the runes are not merely symbols representing fixed meanings.

Within the spiritual framework of Runic Shamanism, they are experienced as living expressions of creation, carrying wisdom that can be explored through intuition, spiritual practice and direct relationship.

Students will investigate the relationship between consciousness, energy and creation, including spiritual perspectives on what might be described as the quantum nature of existence.

Rather than simply learning to interpret the runes, students will be encouraged to develop their own relationships with these ancient energies, discovering how they may become companions and guides throughout life's unfolding journey.

Ceremony and Sacred Experience

The programme is being developed to incorporate extended ceremonial experiences inspired by Northern European traditions.

These may include Utisitta, a traditional practice of sitting out in nature for spiritual insight, alongside a Blót or High Seat ceremony.

These experiences will offer opportunities for deeper connection, reflection and spiritual exploration.

Final ceremonial arrangements will be confirmed as the programme develops.

Who Can Join

Year Two is open to students who have completed the Shamanic Quest Foundation Course.

The Foundation Course provides the essential initiation and spiritual preparation for progressing into this deeper relationship with the runes.

Selected ceremonies may also be available to participants outside the training programme.

Course Information

The programme is designed to unfold over approximately one year, allowing time for teaching, ceremonial experiences, independent practice and personal integration.
